AK Steel Announces Stainless Sheet Price Increase

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio, Aug. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AK Steel said today that it will increase transaction prices for all stainless hot- rolled sheet and strip and continuous mill plate products by approximately 10%, effective September 3, 2006. The increase will be accomplished through a five percentage point reduction in the functional discount rate. The company said that its published stainless product surcharges remain in effect.
Headquartered in Middletown, Ohio, AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, as well as carbon and stainless tubular steel products, for automotive, appliance, construction and manufacturing markets.
