Tamija Gold &Amp; Diamond Exploration Receives Central African Republic Reconnaisance License
Posted on: Wednesday, 6 September 2006, 12:00 CDT
Tamija Gold & Diamond Exploration, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: TMJG), a multi-faceted resource and exploration company specializing in the recovery and exploration of diamonds and gold, announces Tamija Resources Centrafrique, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tamija Gold & Diamond Exploration, Inc., has been granted a Reconnaissance License for the exploration of diamonds and gold in the Central African Republic, ("C.A.R."). The licensed territory is in excess of 1600 sq km and encompasses an area surrounding the City of Bria, where diamonds were first discovered in 1914. The Company has filed an application requesting this specific area after consulting with leading geological experts who indicated this as a specific target of tremendous potential with respect to the hosting of both alluvial diamonds as well as gold.
The Company was attracted to C.A.R. because it remains relatively unexploited whilst it is still regarded as one of world's top five gem quality diamond producing countries. Additionally, C.A.R. has now adopted a more favorable business policy to attract foreign investment under the existing administration of President Francois Bozize and Minister of Mines, Sylvain Ndoutingai. In addition, C.A.R. also continues to maintain in good standing as one of the 43 Kimberly Process member countries, thus enabling the certified exportation of diamond production. Pursuant to the C.A.R. Mining Code, the Company's acquisition of this license is a prerequisite to conduct additional geological surveys and reports.
Further support for the value of this area has been evidenced by the works of local artisinal diggers, who have extracted gold, and moreover, gemstone quality diamonds renowned for their sought after size, often in excess of 3 carats. The Company's License includes a substantial unexploited section and length of the Kotto River, which is believed to potentially represent a direct outlet to an "origin" diamond source. The Kotto River has yielded excellent returns in other sections to the north of the Company's territory. As the river flows south, it enters into the coordinates held by De Beers under an agreement with C.A.R. for exploitation of Kimberlite Pipes. With a positive indication from the current geological study, the Company will forwardly apply for the next entitlement, allowing continued exploration and commencement of pre-commercial production operations.
