U.S. Service Sector Grows in September
October 4, 2006
The overall U.S. service sector grew in September but at a slower pace than it has been growing, an industry group said Wednesday.
The Institute of Supply Management said that individual service sectors that grew last month were mining, retail, education, healthcare, social assistance, utilities, wholesale trade, public administration, scientific and technical services, finance and corporate management.
Seven service sectors declined in September. They were transportation and warehousing, real estate, rental and leasing, construction, arts and entertainment and hospitality.
