Sentry Select Capital Corp. Announces Unit Distribution for Precious Metals and Mining Trust (TSX: MMP.UN)

Sentry Select Capital Corp. announces a unit distribution for Precious Metals and Mining Trust (TSX: MMP.UN) (the "Trust"). The distribution, in the amount of $0.0621 per unit, was paid in units to all unitholders of record as of December 31, 2006. Following the distribution payment, the units were consolidated, resulting in no change in either the number of units or the net asset value per unit of the Trust immediately following the transaction. The unit distribution is classified as capital gains for tax purposes and increases investors' adjusted cost base of the Trust.

Throughout the year, the Trust realized capital gains from the sale of securities and must distribute the net income and net realized capital gains to unitholders to ensure that it will not be liable for income tax. The unit distribution represents the total remaining undistributed capital gains the Trust realized throughout the year.

Precious Metals and Mining Trust

Precious Metals and Mining Trust is a closed-end trust that aims to provide unitholders with long-term capital appreciation and monthly cash distributions. The Trust invests in an actively managed portfolio consisting primarily of equity securities of metals and minerals mining and exploration issuers listed on a North American stock exchange.
