REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich., Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Steel Industries Inc., an Ameriforge Group Company, launched a $12 Million capital expansion project with a Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening Celebration held January 25, 2007. The open-die forging and seamless rolled ring manufacturer located near Detroit, Michigan completed the 62,000 square foot state-of-the-art heat-treating and aluminum processing complex to enhance and expand their product offering to current customers and new markets, especially the aircraft and aerospace industries. This expansion increases the Redford-based manufacturing company to 217,000 sq. ft. and will create over 20 new jobs. Farmington Hills based Cunningham-Limp, a full service construction management and real estate consulting firm, completed this project December 1, 2006.

The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony had the theme "Ready to Launch" and was followed by a Grand Opening Celebration with community leaders and dignitaries, key suppliers, guests and employees. Program presenters included R. Miles Handy II, Redford Township Supervisor; Gail Govaere, Representative for US Senator Carl Levin; Larry Gormezano, Manager SE Michigan Office, Michigan Economic Development Corporation and leaders from the Ameriforge Group and Steel Industries.
