New ”Green” Series Available From Scripps Networks at MIPTV
Living green is all the rage these days, but perhaps no one lives ”greener” than environmentally-savvy actor Ed Begley, Jr. host of the HGTV program Living with Ed. Living with Ed chronicles the daily life of the TV / movie actor and his wife, Rachelle, in a fresh, unscripted docu-soap about the lifestyle of a diehard activist who puts his money and his time where his mouth is 24/7.
“Viewers all over the world are seeking information on how to live ’green,’” said Kristen Jordan, senior vice president of international development for Scripps Networks. “As the leader in lifestyle media, Scripps Networks is reflecting this interest through offerings such as Living with Ed, and in other environmentally-focused programs currently in production from our brands.”
“Living with Ed” follows talented actor and director Begley in his favorite role, that of ultra-green homeowner. The environmentalist drives his hybrid vehicles around Tinsel Town, powers his home with solar panels and makes toast with the energy created by pedaling his stationary bike. Living with Ed and his eco-passion isn’t always easy for Rachelle, who prefers the conveniences of modern life – it can be far from the expected extravagant Hollywood style. If it’s not organic, recycled, energy-efficient or solar powered, you won’t find it in their home. This first-of-its-kind green reality show chronicles life with an earth-friendly fanatic with humor and heart.
Tips for living green from Begley and from HGTV can be found at http://www.hgtv.com. Among the 18,000 hours of lifestyle programming available from Scripps Networks at MIPTV is the first season of Living with Ed. A second season of Living with Ed as well as other eco-friendly titles are currently in production.
