Posted on: Thursday, 12 April 2007, 09:00 CDT
Crisp Wireless, a mobile technology solutions and services company, and Internet Broadcasting, the nation's largest publisher of local news online, today announced the launch of 29 mobile Web sites, creating one of the nation's largest mobile networks of local TV station sites.
The sites will offer local breaking news, updated headlines, current weather conditions, forecasts, live radar, updated sports scores and other regional and national content while allowing for prominent advertising banners, sponsorships, and "microsites." Internet Broadcasting and its partner stations will sell local and national advertising for the sites.
Crisp Wireless builds, hosts and maintains mobile websites for leading media companies, print publishers and Web properties. Crisp Wireless' proprietary technology platform, mLogic™, offers robust device detection and handset optimization to ensure the highest quality end-user experience. The mLogic platform also supports mobile advertising, enabling customers the opportunity to easily monetize mobile Web sites.
"One of the largest categories of mobile web consumption is local news and weather forecasts, since consumers use their mobile device to stay connected," said Boris Fridman, CEO of Crisp Wireless. "By leveraging trusted local television properties, Internet Broadcasting makes local content more meaningful to the end user and will attract the same brands who advertise online."
"Consumers value local content for news that affects their daily lives," said Julie Burrows, Internet Broadcasting's EVP of marketing, research, and product development. "Whether it's from TV, online or now mobile, our partnership with Crisp Wireless enables us to provide them with valuable information whenever they want, wherever they are. Also, advertisers will now have a new platform on which to reach these highly desirable consumers."
