Green & Seifter, Attorneys, PLLC and St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center have announced that Lowell A. Seifter, Esq., one of the founding members of the firm, has accepted an offer to become General Counsel for the health care organization. Seifter plans to transition from the law firm and begin work at St. Joseph’s in February. He will remain of counsel to Green & Seifter, Attorneys.
“We are excited to have Lowell join us next month. St. Joseph´s is experiencing unprecedented growth and the addition of general counsel is a testament to that growth and success of our organization,” said St. Joseph’s President & CEO, Kathryn H. Ruscitto.
As one of the founders and senior members of Green & Seifter, Attorneys, Seifter has over the past 35 years helped shape and develop the law firm. The firm is established in the Central Upstate New York region with 31 attorneys in 27 major practice areas. “Green & Seifter is on solid ground, and continues to grow and diversify in its legal services and practice areas,” said Seifter. “I leave the firm confident in the knowledge that the transition of my clients will be seamless.”
“I am looking forward to applying my experience and knowledge to help a not-for-profit achieve its mission,” stated Seifter. “St. Joseph’s is an important institution in our community, employing nearly 4,000 employees, and facing many challenges and strategic decisions. The organization´s values are similar to those of Green & Seifter, Attorneys, so I know that I will be happy there.”
“We are firmly supportive of Lowell’s decision. We deeply appreciate everything he has brought to the firm from its inception, and we want Lowell to understand that his daily presence, clear and consistent thinking, good judgment, and superb lawyering skills will be missed,” said Larry Bousquet, a managing member of the firm. “Our firm is committed to carry on the values and excellent legal services that Lowell helped develop, and to support our clients and the communities in which they live and work.”
Seifter´s primary practice areas at Green & Seifter, Attorneys included business transactions, commercial real estate, and health care. He participated on numerous arbitration panels for the American Health Lawyers Association. A resident of De Witt, Seifter holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University and a law degree from its College of Law. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
