FirmGreen Launches Research & Development Lab in U.S.
Kokomo, Indiana to be First Green Technology Hub for FirmGreen Labs
Newport Beach, CA (PRWEB) February 06, 2012
FirmGreen announces the launch of FirmGreen Labs, its Green Energy Research & Development facility in Kokomo, Indiana, a suburb of Indianapolis – host city to Super Bowl XLVI. Kokomo, known as the ℠City of Firsts´ because of the large number of patents awarded its citizens over the last 100+ years, continues that history of innovation as home to FirmGreen´s first green technology R&D hub. The lab will integrate and monitor production from renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and biogas, allowing FirmGreen to offer the most reliable and cost-effective package of innovative equipment and controls software to meet its customers’ energy needs.
FirmGreen Labs will employ scientists and engineers working in the fields of green energy production, unmanned intelligent controls, integration of various sources of green energy from multiple third party vendors, and the core competency behind Remote Intelligent Control: Real Time Artificial Intelligence. The Kokomo facility is expected to create a dozen new fulltime jobs, good news during the continued weakness in the U.S. labor market.
“We opened FirmGreen Labs in Kokomo because its history of innovation, highly educated work force, and location near the geographical center of the United States makes it ideal for our first Regional Command Center,” said FirmGreen CEO, Steve Wilburn. “Using its patented Verde Controls technology, FirmGreen Labs can safely manage a diverse portfolio of Green Energy sites via secure internet channels, making FirmGreen´s Green Energy Centers more profitable for our customers AND for the planet!”
Headquartered in Newport Beach, California, FirmGreen, Inc. is a leader in renewable energy and fuels project development. FirmGreen´s work at a central Ohio landfill, using its patented technology to produce compressed natural gas fuel from landfill methane was recognized by the U.S. EPA’s Landfill Methane Outreach Program (LMOP) with a 2008 Project of the Year Award. Internationally, FirmGreen is developing green energy projects that utilize wind power, solar power, geothermal, and clean sustainable biogas fuels produced from waste resources such as landfills and waste water treatment plants. FirmGreen is currently installing its patented biogas purification equipment at Novo Gramacho – the world´s largest managed landfill, located near Rio de Janiero, Brazil.
