Salsa Labs’ New Cloud Architecture and User Interface Changes Online Organizing for Thousands of Nonprofits

March 22, 2012

Greater Scalability and Ease-of-Use Designed to Support Growing Demand from Rapidly Expanding Salsa Client Community

Washington, DC (PRWEB) March 21, 2012

Salsa Labs, Inc., creator of the online, integrated platform for non-profit fundraising, communications and advocacy, today announced the newest release of the Salsa platform, informally known as Salsa 2, which includes a new architecture for improved scalability and reliability and a new user interface designed to help users complete tasks faster.

“With our client community rapidly expanding, our clients may use Salsa to perform more than a hundred thousand fundraising and advocacy actions in the span of an hour to support their missions. To grow with the community, we’ve had to change how we think about building an infrastructure,” said Chris Lundberg, Salsa´s co-founder and CEO. “We turned to the cloud for its ability to scale dynamically to our clients´ needs.”

The new architecture incorporates Amazon´s AWS cloud for all client public-facing pages, which provides more than simple scalability. It includes additional protection against denial-of-service attacks and a native content delivery network for speedy, fail-safe delivery of images and other files. It also allows Salsa to locate servers across multiple regions and continents for increasingly better service to our international organizations.

Charles Parsons, product manager at Salsa, added: “Knowing that ease-of use is extremely important to our clients, we have also designed a new user interface for Salsa 2. Nonprofit campaign and communication managers will be able to complete their tasks quickly with the new navigation structure and workspace design.”
