Silverado Senior Living Receives LTC & Senior Living LINK Spirit of Innovation Award
The award for most innovative Patient Wellness and Life Enrichment Program was presented to Silverado for its partnership with key vendors to develop an all-in-one resident safety and communications system
(PRWEB) August 02, 2012
Silverado Senior Living, a company founded with the goal of transforming how the world cares for individuals with memory loss, continues its pioneering memory-care efforts with its most recent recognition at the Eighth Annual LTC & Senior Living Link Conference. As part of the annual conference, a Spirit of Innovation Awards ceremony is held to recognize companies for their innovations and development of industry best practices.
This year´s Spirit of Innovation Award in the category of Patient Wellness and Life Enrichment Programs was presented to Silverado for its initiative called Enhancing Resident Care through Technological Advancements (ERCTA).
The initiative, which started as a quest to do away with noise caused by two-way radios, ultimately led to the development of an all-inclusive system that uses a handheld device to combine Silverado´s nursing communication and security systems.
This new system, created through strategic partnerships with key vendors, provides Silverado´s staff with all-in-one control. With the help of this phone-like apparatus, employees can receive instant and simultaneous alerts related to nurse call activities and resident monitoring devices. The system also allows for internal communication between staff and external communication to physicians and family members.
“Silverado offers personalized care options for individuals at all levels of memory-care need,” explains Senior Director of Plant Operations and ERCTA program originator Stan Tanabe. “This new all-in-one system allows us to enhance those services by ensuring that staff members are immediately aware of all resident care needs.”
