San Diego Pool Service Helps Reduce Environmental Impact of Swimming Pools through Salt Systems

September 9, 2012

To help reduce the impact of swimming pools on the environment, East Lake Pool owner Rob Fowler announces they are stepping up their services through their pool salt systems and speed pool pumps. They are introducing these systems to pool owners to eliminate the use of huge amounts of chlorine as pool disinfectant and to save on energy.

“We have a pool, thus we understand what needs to be done to make sure our kids and our entire family have a clean pool to swim in. It is also essential that it won´t bring harm to them or to the environment,” Rob Fowler says.

“It is our mission to serve the people of San Diego who have pools with the same care we give to our family,” he adds.

Although swimming pools provide opportunities for enjoyment and exercise to families and individuals, these are known to suck more energy and waste more water than any other equipment found in homes and other establishments. The chemicals used in disinfecting pool water like chlorine are also known to have harsh effects not just on the swimmers, but also on the environment.

Chlorine is said to have a huge role in the most serious environmental problems such as acid rain, global warming and the thinning of the ozone layer. The amount by which this naturally occurring gas is already considered harmful has yet to be fully determined though.

The harmful effects of exposure to minimal amounts of chlorine over extended periods of time are also still being studied. However, the most common reaction to chlorine found among humans usually pertains to the respiratory system.

“It is our goal to make your backyard safe and free from stress so that you and your family can enjoy their pool without any discomfort. Through the systems we offer, we help eliminate the worry you might have over exposing yourself, your family and your environment to high levels of chlorine which can happen during the one-time dumping of this chemical into your pool,” Rob Fowler states.

He points out, “We want to stress that our salt systems do not make your pools chlorine-free. They, however, regulate the production of chlorine into your pool thus doing away with the usual task of putting large amounts of the chemical in at one time.”

The salt water systems provided by Eastlake Pool still need regular chlorine shocks so that the water will be oxidized and harmful bacteria will be eliminated. To ensure that pool salt systems are providing their best performance, Eastlake Pools provide free estimates on installations of new salt water systems as well as free analyses of existing systems.

“We ensure to go beyond your expectations when it comes to keeping your pools clean and bacteria-free. It is our aim to take out the hassle of owning and maintaining a pool here in San Diego”

Aside from their pool salt systems, Eastlake Pools also provides different choices of adjustable speed pool pumps. These pumps help families save on energy, reduce electric bills and qualify for a $200 SDG&E rebate. When compared to the standard pump system, these speed pumps are also known for cutting down the costs of running your pool pump by half.

The pool service company offers an extensive range of services including pool repair, acid washing, deco-seal replacement, plumbing replacement and spa repairs. Eastlake Pools serves all of La Mesa, Chula Vista, El Cajon, Lakeside and Lemon Grove.
