Sher Fertility Offers Free IVF Medications to Patients
Grant Provides Up to $2,000 in Medications to Patients Undergoing IVF
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) October 11, 2012
Sher Fertility Institute announced today that it will be offering a subsidy of up to $2,000 in In Vitro Fertilization medications to patients undergoing IVF treatment prior to the end of 2012. The offer of donated medications is a part of the Institute´s “Giving Back” initiative that seeks to provide free or discounted fertility treatment to couples/individuals who have a medical need for it.
Because the cost of IVF medications can run into the thousands of dollars, they can comprise a substantial portion of the cost of undergoing fertility treatment. The donations are intended to help offset these costs and make IVF treatment accessible to more couples in Las Vegas.
“We are happy to be able to provide this subsidy to our patients that are struggling to start or complete their families,” said Jeffrey Fisch, MD, Medical Director of Sher Fertility Institute. “We do offer a limited number of free treatments each year, but this grant allows us to offer something to every patient that comes to us for treatment within this window.”
The “Giving Back” initiative includes a number of programs and offerings intended to help couples in need of fertility treatment. They include:
- Frequent donations of IVF treatment to couples at patient education seminars in Las Vegas, Dallas, St. Louis, New Jersey, and Peoria, IL
- No-cost egg freezing services for patients facing cancer treatment
- Discounted IVF treatment plans for teachers, military couples, and “first responders”
- Video and essay contests with donated IVF treatment for winning couples
- Participation with third party patient advocacy groups in need-based free treatment programs
This grant comes on the heels of a patient education seminar in Las Vegas, where a free round of In Vitro Fertilization was donated by random drawing to an audience member. The winner, Valeria Hepner, had been trying for 14 years to conceive with her husband. She offered a tearful thanks to the doctors and the audience, who graciously applauded her good fortune.
