Lake Orion, MI (PRWEB) February 16, 2013
Endometriosis is a debilitating disease in women causing painful periods, painful sexual intercourse, chronic pelvic pain, and infertility. The causes of endometriosis are largely unknown but in spite of that there are effective treatments available. Women´s Excellence in Endometriosis is a privately-owned and operated, free-standing specialty center associated with Women´s Excellence in OB/GYN. Dr. Jonathan Zaidan MD, founder and physician of the private practice, recognized the need for a dedicated center to treat his patients with endometriosis. According to Dr. Zaidan, “The endometriosis patient is a special kind of patient. The disease is chronic which warrants frequent visits. Also the visits take more time than the average obstetrical or gynecological visit.”
The new center offers a quiet, comfortable, welcoming atmosphere and appointment times are longer. “It´s also much easier for us providers to run on time. I love that I can walk into the room for a 2 pm appointment at 2 pm! How many offices run that efficiently?”, Debbie Henry, MSN, NP-C, nurse practitioner at Women´s Excellence in Endometriosis stated. Dr. Zaidan hired Henry to staff the endometriosis center. She primarily manages patients who are undergoing aggressive hormonal therapy. Management includes “add back” hormonal therapy, pain management, and treatment for depression and anxiety in many cases.
Dr. Zaidan is trained and practiced in the Da Vinci Robotic procedure to remove endometriosis, a procedure which has brought endometriosis treatment as close to cure for the disease than any other treatment to date. “When it comes to effectively treating endometriosis, a combination of therapies is required and long term follow up is usually necessary.” Dr. Zaidan utilizes a protocol of medications and surgery to achieve optimal results. The complete protocol takes several months but has been highly effective in reducing the symptoms and sequelae of endometriosis. “When we treat a patient for endometriosis, we see them again and again over a period of months. We really get to know our patients and they get to know us. We develop a caring, personal relationship with each and every one. The experience is rewarding to both the provider and patient.”, concluded Zaidan.
