Reno, NV (PRWEB) February 22, 2013
Elite Dental Institute announced three new Master Dental Sleep Physician (MDSP) designees at their annual Collaborative Sleep Symposium. This marks the first time that Elite Dental Institute has awarded the MDSP designation, which represents the highest level of accomplishment for their delegates. While presenting the awards, Elite Dental Institute´s Founder and Clinical Director, Dr. J Brian Allman said, “I am proud to present the MDSP designation to each of these colleagues, for their exceptional accomplishment and mastery in Dental Sleep Medicine.”
The MDSP program is built upon a foundation of four core values: Education, Dedication, Integrity, and Mastery, within the field of Dental Sleep Medicine. Applicants must complete a minimum of 30 hours of didactic DSM lecture, 30 hours of hands-on DSM training, submit 20 written case reviews for peer evaluation, experience polysomnography and home sleep testing, present two oral case reviews, AND pass the written mastery exam – requirements exceeding nearly any other designation in the field of Dental Sleep Medicine. To remain a recognized Master Dental Sleep Physician, delegates must also complete an additional 16 hours of DSM lecture annually and attend a multidisciplinary event every two years.
Elite Dental Institute awarded the Master Dental Sleep Physician designation to Dr. Max Ebrahimian, Dr. Rashmi Parmar, and Dr. Ariana Ebrahimian. Additional awards were presented to Dr. Jaime Gonzalez and Dr. Randall Mallett for completing the educational portion of the MDSP program.
Obstructive Sleep Apnea is a deadly disease of craniofacial anatomy and it is important to recognize those who are taking the issue seriously. The MDSP program represents a great opportunity for dentists to get the training and support they need to help save people from this deadly disease.
