Visualant Takes ChromaID Technology to European Marketplace

April 17, 2013

Technology for industrial, commercial and consumer applications and markets to be exhibited and socialized throughout Europe

Seattle WA (PRWEB) April 17, 2013

Seattle and Munich — (April 17th, 2013) Visualant, Inc. (OTCBB: VSUL), an industry-leading provider of light-based identification and diagnostic solutions, announced today that it will bring its innovative ChromaID technology to one of the world´s foremost photonics tradeshows, Laser World of Photonics. Visualant will demonstrate its ChromaID technology for the first time in Europe at booth C2/657 at the Laser World of Photonics in Munich, Germany, taking place on May 13th-16th, 2013.

The Laser World of Photonics is one of the largest photonics shows in the world with more than 29,000 attendees, 1,100 exhibitors and participants from 65 countries. This makes it a focal point for new technologies and provides a unique opportunity for Visualant to share and socialize the ChromaID technology for industrial, commercial and consumer applications and markets throughout Europe.

“The Laser World of Photonics show strengthens the link between science and industry and functions as a vital catalyst for both business and ideas to be fostered,” said Ron Erickson, President and CEO. “Visualant´s ChromaID technology is a disruptive offering. Participating at this event will help us garner mindshare in the marketplace and fortify our business development efforts as we address the demands for our technology across Europe.”

After being awarded the highest recognition in advanced photonics, the Prism Award, at the SPIE Photonics West show in San Francisco last February, the company is entering into a broader marketplace with its proprietary ChromaID technology, whose potential and different applications will be demonstrated during the forthcoming Laser Show in Munich.

Meeting every two years since 1973, the World of Photonics Congress showcases the entire range of photonics, from science to practical applications, as it brings together the international photonics and laser community in Munich.

About Visualant, Inc.

Visualant is a public company whose shares trade under the stock symbol, VSUL. The Visualant Spectral Pattern Matching technology directs structured light onto a substance, through a liquid/gas, or off a surface, to capture a unique ChromaID. When matched against existing databases, a ChromaID can be used to identify, detect, or diagnosis markers invisible to the human eye. ChromaID scanner modules can be integrated into a variety of mobile or fixed-mount form factors. The patented technology is disruptive, making it possible to effectively conduct analyses in the field that could only previously be performed by large and expensive lab—based tests.

Visualant has a Joint Development Agreement through December 31, 2013 with Sumitomo Precision Products Co., Ltd. (“SPP”), which focuses on the commercialization of the SPM technology and an ongoing License Agreement providing SPP with an exclusive license of the SPM technology in identified Asian territories.
