SECURR in Ontario, California offers clear trash cans as a public safety measure to allow visibility of trash can contents. These clear cans act as a deterrent against placing bombs or other malicious devices in trash cans. Various agencies and organizations have recently elected to install these clear-sided waste receptacles as an extra precaution to enhance public safety measures at sports events and in public spaces (Homeland Security trash cans).

SECURR won a contract to supply clear-sided trash bins to the Public Building Commission, which operates the Daley Center in downtown Chicago. These SECURR trash cans are used in Daley Plaza, through which thousands of people pass daily.

SECURR waste receptacles were placed on the plaza before last year’s NATO Summit, replacing less secure trash cans. This represents a trend by Chicago and many other U.S. cities to deploy clear trash cans, thereby assisting law enforcement in protecting the public by making trash can contents more conspicuous.

The nation´s capital is also making changes for events to be held there. The Department of Energy in Washington D.C. purchased SECURR clear-sided containers to be utilized during the Earth Day Celebration held on April 25th. This action by a federal agency validates the need for safer trash and recycling receptacles at public events where gatherings of large groups of people occur.

SECURR initially developed clear trash bins for use on Long Island Rail Road commuter train platforms at the request of law enforcement personnel for that transit agency. Subsequently, SECURR security trash cans have been selected for use by commuter rail systems in Atlanta and Los Angeles, as well as by the Denver International Airport. For more information on SECURR security receptacles, visit the company’s website at http://www.trash-cans.com or our blog.

SECURR is located in Ontario, California and produces a broad variety of waste and recycling bins for federal, state and local government agency use as well as for private sector users. SECURR products cover a broad spectrum of uses including clear-sided security trash cans, animal proof trash cans, and medical waste pharmaceutical kiosks.
