Lerner and Rowe Gives Back Joins Phoenix Rescue Mission’s “Code Red: Summer Heat Relief Campaign” to Help Homeless and Elderly

May 7, 2013

The Arizona injury, bankruptcy and criminal defense law offices of Lerner and Rowe, P.C. give back to the local community by hosting donation centers at their four Phoenix area offices to collect bottled water and heat-related relief items. Water and other items donated will be given to elderly shut-ins and the homeless to help prevent heat-related deaths and other health conditions during the scorching summer months.

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) May 07, 2013

According to recent reports released in a national HUD survey, the Phoenix homeless population has increased by 11% since 2011 to include men, women and children. Elevated summer temperatures the exceed 100 degrees make living on the streets even more dangerous and potentially fatal for these individuals. Elderly shut-ins are also at-risk of experiencing serious heat-related health conditions during summer months. Phoenix Rescue Mission´s “Code Red” summer relief program is partnering with local businesses such as Lerner and Rowe, P.C., and city agencies to help limit the instances of heat exhaustion, stroke and related fatalities this summer.

“Phoenix Rescue Mission increased their heat-relief efforts in 2013 by adding light colored clothing items, cool snack packs, sunglasses, sunscreen and other toiletry items to their annual water collection drive to assist the homeless and elderly shut-ins in Phoenix,” stated Kevin Rowe, ESQ., and founder of the nonprofit charitable organization Lerner and Rowe Gives Back. “This year in addition to hosting drop-off collection locations, we have also stepped up our efforts by donating $5,000 to the mission to help kick start their summer heat relief program. I encourage other businesses and organizations that can to donate bottled water, personal items, or their time through volunteer work. Together we can do greater things than just on our own.”

The Phoenix Lerner and Rowe law offices accept donations Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the following locations through the end of the “Code Red” campaign:
