Michael Herbert Appointed Director of Program Development at Delray Recovery Center

It is with great excitement we announce Michael Herbert, CAC, CASAC, ICADC, as Director of Program Development at the Delray Recovery Center. Before joining DRC, Michael was positioned as Clinical Director at one of the country´s most prestigious addiction treatment programs.

It is with great excitement we announce Michael Herbert, CAC, CASAC, ICADC, as Director of Program Development at the Delray Recovery Center. Before joining DRC, Michael was positioned as Clinical Director at one of the country´s most prestigious addiction treatment programs.

Michael Herbert is an internationally recognized clinician, bringing over twenty years of addiction treatment, intervention, aftercare and recovery coaching experience to the Delray Recovery Center. Michael´s international work includes teaching addiction counseling at Behman Hospital in Cairo, Egypt, and consulting the Cairo American College and the Maadi Psychological Center. Michael has worked extensively in Africa by developing and facilitating self-help groups, as well as implementing prevention strategies.

Domestically, Michael developed programs for the New York Theological Seminary for Children at Risk and the New York City Police Department Members Assistance Program (MAP). As an addiction treatment clinician in the United States for the last 22 years, Michael thrives in helping individuals and families attain recovery.

I know that his vast experience and talent will continue to propel us forward in our vision for our program and this industry,” commented Chief Executive Officer of the Delray Recovery Center, Joseph Petri.

Michael´s personal accomplishments include competing in Ultra Marathons, running longer than 150 miles across the Sahara Desert in Egypt and Lewa Downs in Kenya, while motivating others to do the same. Michael is also an Armed Forces Veteran, serving in the United States Navy for 5 years.

“I am really excited about this opportunity to work with the Delray Recovery Center and its patients. The Delray Recovery Center has fresh ideas and utilizes modern technology along with evidence-based methods to treat chemical dependency. I am looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and lending my experience to the organization,” said Michael.

Located in Delray Beach, FL, the Delray Recovery Center offers individualized treatment programs for alcohol and drug addiction, and co-occurring mental health disorders. The Delray Recovery Center believes in a long-term treatment model, where patients go through a 5-phase step down continuum of care, allowing them to develop the tools necessary to achieve long-term recovery.
