Bodyweight Torch Reveals Jumping Jacks Video as a Great Warm-up Bodyweight Exercise
Jumping Jacks Revealed by BodyweightTorch.com as One of the Best Warm-up Exercises
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 14, 2013
Jumping Jacks were a staple in elementary school for many people and even through middle and high school in PE Class. But according to Mike Whitfield, a trainer who has lost over 100 pounds, Jumping Jacks should be a staple today as a great bodyweight warm-up exercise before any bodyweight training program or even a strength training workout. Whitfield released a video demonstration on how to perform the Jumping Jacks to his subscribers to encourage them to use bodyweight exercises to warm-up instead of traditional cardio machines like treadmills, ellipticals and bikes.
“The Jumping Jacks exercise is a great way to start a bodyweight warm-up circuit to wake up the body, start blood flow and prime the entire body for the workout ahead. Whether someone is going to start a bodyweight training workout or even an intense strength training routine, the Jumping Jacks exercise is a great tool to plug in with any warm-up routine. It´s also a great way to improve shoulder mobility, but the key is to bring the arms all the way above the head. Too many people make the mistake of only bringing their arms up part of the way, not making the Jumping Jacks exercise as effective. It´s a great non-impact exercise that will raise the heart rate as well without any big impacts to the joints like jump squats and jumping lunges. It´s also a great substitute for people that are not ready for the more intense bodyweight movements. In a typical bodyweight warm-up routine, I suggest doing 15 repetitions. This will prepare the body, along with other bodyweight exercises for any intense workout. It´s a classic bodyweight exercise that should be used in a bodyweight workout program”, said Whitfield.
