Firm Ranks Among the Top 100 Law Firms for Diversity in the U.S.

Akerman Senterfitt today announced that it is once again ranked among the top 100 law firms for diversity in the United States by The American Lawyer. The firm increased its ranking on The American Lawyer's 2013 Diversity Scorecard by 31 spots to No. 50; a distinction that reflects the firm's ongoing diversity hiring and promotion practices.

The Diversity Scorecard ranking is the latest recognition of the firm's efforts to recruit and retain a diverse team of lawyers. Akerman was named Law Firm of the Year for Diversity – South by Benchmark Litigation in 2012. In addition, MultiCultural Law magazine ranked the firm 3rd among the top 25 law firms for Hispanic-Americans and 35th among the top 50 law firms for partners in 2012.

The Diversity Scorecard is an annual ranking of the nation's 250 largest and highest-grossing law firms. The diversity score for each firm was calculated by adding the minority percentage of U.S. attorneys at the firms surveyed to the minority percentage of U.S. partners at those firms.
