The milestone also marks the company’s delivery of Turbine Inlet Air Chilling (TIAC) on its 100th gas turbine and the delivery of more than 1 million tons of refrigerated water (TR) across all projects globally. Stellar Energy is expected to announce several more TIAC, Central Utility Plant (CUP) and Combined Heat & Power (CHP) projects in the coming months. TIAC is a commercially proven way to improve power producers' profitability by increasing a gas turbine's power output by up to 30 percent. By chilling the inlet air before it enters the compressor, TIAC gives the turbine a boost when it needs it most – in hot weather. In addition to increasing power output, TIAC improves the turbine's heat rate, increasing efficiency and lowering emissions. Stellar Energy has been a leader in turbine inlet air chilling systems for 20 years.
