Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 26, 2013

Atlanta’s school for Asperger’s and other special needs students, Cumberland Academy of Georgia, is getting ready for a new school year. Cumberland has a high level of participation from parent groups as well as local business partners who donate time to help the school succeed. This year, as teachers prepare their curriculum for the next year, the school staff is holding volunteer work days, giving those interested the opportunity to support Cumberland by beautifying the new school building in time for the students' return in August. The work days will be held on August 1 from 10 am to 4 pm and August 3 from 10 am to 1 pm. Volunteers are welcome anytime during those hours.

School supporters such as AT&T, LexisNexis and SunTrust will send employees to team up and organize, brighten and tidy classrooms and the campus of the school. Volunteers will be painting, cleaning and planting in order to welcome students to a new year of learning.

"With all the improvements going on in the building, we are sure to open our doors for the first day of school with a splash," said Debbi Scarborough, founding director. "We are so grateful to the community, our business sponsors and to our parents for their support of Cumberland."

Cumberland Academy of Georgia specializes in the needs of students in grades four through twelve who have high-functioning Autism, Asperger’s, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and learning disabilities.
