On August 13, “Let’s Kick This” invites the Tri-State community to sign up and participate in its inaugural “Let’s Kick This Charity Soccer Tournament” on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Chelsea Waterside Park (W 23rd Street & 11th Avenue) for the benefit of Voices Against Brain Cancer. The Co-Ed tournament is 5 versus 5 and is designed for all levels of play. Ages 18 and older are invited to participate.
The “Let’s Kick This Charity Soccer Tournament,” sponsored by McDonald Metal Roofing Company and Backstage.com among other NYC companies and firms, will benefit Voices Against Brain Cancer, whose mission is to find a cure for brain cancer by advancing scientific research, increasing awareness within the medical community and supporting patients, their families and caregivers afflicted with this devastating disease.
Due to the overwhelming support of the tournament’s sponsors, it is now free to enter and play. Donations are encouraged. All proceeds from the event go to Voices Against Brain Cancer. All players will receive a complimentary event T-shirt and awards will be given to the top team from each bracket. The tournament starts at 10 AM.
“We’re looking forward to an amazing day filled with fun, competition and sport, which will raise awareness about the work that Voices Against Brain Cancer is doing to kick away brain cancer,” said Mario Lichtenstein, Founder of Voices Against Brain Cancer. “With the help of New York City and Tri-State area businesses and our generous players, families, friends and community, we anticipate raising a significant amount of money and awareness, so lace up your cleats and come to play.”
