High Anonymity Proxy Unblocks Regionally Unavailable Videos

September 15, 2013

idcloak’s newly released high anonymity Proxy allows users in countries where videos and sites are restricted to bypass geoblocks and access content as if based elsewhere.

Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) September 15, 2013

idcloak releases a High Anonymity Proxy for users facing geoblocks on sites or pages they visit from their country location. The release is geared especially towards YouTube fans in countries like Germany where a high proportion of YouTube videos are unavailable on German IP addresses. By selecting a British or American server location (in ‘More Options’), the proxy user can bypass any geographical discrimination and access the desired content as if they had physically relocated. The high anonymity status of the proxy ensures that the destination site is unaware that a proxy is being used. It does this by stripping away data fields in the HTTPS headers that reveals to the site a visitor is using a proxy. The service is also very robust, being built to carry several hundred connections streaming YouTube content simultaneously. “Our proxy was not only designed for high anonymity,” says idcloak’s Robin Welles, “it took us a lot of work to make it as fast as it possible as well. We opted to distribute the load over multiple servers and optimize DNS settings for maximum speed. The performance results we are seeing now are pretty impressive; amazing even, when you consider it’s a free service.” The idcloak proxy now operates multiple IP addresses on its several servers to ensure users will not suffer in the event IP blacklisting occurs. “Invariably, when you offer a service that does not require user login or download, you have people abusing it. We switched IP addresses once after Google discovered one of our anonymous users was abusing our protection. We’ll replace the addresses as often as we have to but ask users to respect the fact this is a public service and understand others will suffer if they misuse it.” idcloak has taken what it has learnt from their web proxy's design and applied it to the build of the firm’s high anonymity VPN service, due for release in late September 2013. The service will offer high performance, privacy and security, ultimately on any device. An early bird discount is currently available at idcloak.com.
