New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) October 10, 2013
New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity, Vintage Tech Recyclers and LG Electronics USA have joined forces to bring to a solution for responsible electronics recycling to area residents. Please join us on Saturday October 12th, at the New Orleans Habitat ReStore located at 2900 Elysian Fields Avenue, New Orleans, LA from 8am-1pm.
To ensure responsible recycling, the LG Electronics Recycling Program works with Vintage Tech Recyclers, which is an e-Stewards, R2, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certified electronics recycling company. Vintage Tech provides IT asset management, responsible recycling solutions, and hard drive security in their facilities nationally.
Vintage Tech Recyclers assures all customers that all electronics are properly handled and recycled and all hard drives are protected using NIST 800-88 compliant software wiping. Residents are encouraged to stay in their vehicles as Vintage Tech Recyclers personnel and volunteers will assist in unloading material.
According to LG Electronics USA, by recycling old electronic products, useful materials such as glass, plastic and metal can be re-used in the manufacture of other products. Recycling electronics minimizes the amount of hazardous waste in the landfills and the extraction of new raw materials from the earth. Equally significant, replacing older TVs and computer monitors with new ENERGY STAR® qualified models helps consumers save energy and money while saving the planet.
