Guardian Energy Teams Up with ENERGY STAR to Reduce Carbon Footprint

October 10, 2013

Campaign Supports Nationwide Effort to Decrease the Energy Consumed by Information Technology Equipment

Marlborough, MA (PRWEB) October 10, 2013

Guardian Energy pledged to support the ENERGY STAR Low Carbon IT Campaign in conjunction with efforts to provide energy-efficiency products and services to the New England area. The campaign, initiated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, emphasizes nationwide reduction of energy use in offices.

In addition to existing power management measures, Guardian Energy will take steps to make IT equipment more energy efficient, such as consolidating data and placing unused computers into hibernation mode. By committing to these additional measures, Guardian Energy will reduce its carbon footprint to save organizations money and join the fight to end global warming.

“Guardian’s mission to reduce utility costs through custom strategies aligns with our decision to take this pledge,” said Guardian Energy Director Chip Goudreau. By joining the ranks of companies like Dell, Inc., Fox Entertainment Group, Inc., HP, Microsoft and OfficeMax, Guardian Energy is now one of the contributors to a possible nationwide savings of up to $4 billion worth of electricity—equivalent to reducing greenhouse gas emissions from 5 million cars.

To join the ENERGY STAR Low Carbon IT Campaign, organizations must take the pledge to activate power management features on IT equipment and reduce their carbon footprint.
