Mantras For Life: A Continuation of Mantra Meditations by Deva Premal & Miten

April 30, 2014

Third Recording in Trilogy Set For Release on May 20th from White Swan Records

Boulder, Colorado (PRWEB) April 30, 2014

For nearly two decades, audiences around the world have flocked to concerts and collected the recordings of beloved mantra singers Deva Premal and Miten. Revisiting ancient Sanskrit mantras from India in a truly unique way, with Deva Premal’s mesmerizing voice and contemporary interpretations, her distinctive sound has been forged with the subtle and sensitive accompaniment of her longtime, UK-born partner Miten and more recently, with the noted Nepalese bansuri maestro, Manose.

In 2010, when Deva Premal and Miten recorded MANTRAS FOR PRECARIOUS TIMES, they saw it as the first of a trilogy of albums offering thoughtfully curated selections of mantras chosen for particular applications in everyday life.

The album was followed in 2011 by the groundbreaking TIBETAN MANTRAS FOR TURBULENT TIMES. Never before had a western woman been given the privilege of chanting and recording with the Gyuto Monks of Tibet. The Gyuto Monks are a Tantric order and the deeply felt harmonious balance between masculine and feminine energies has never been more profoundly illustrated than in the recordings of this intensely evocative album.

Both projects met with widespread success and captured an ever-expanding global base of fans interested in undertaking a daily meditation practice. White Swan Records is now proud to announce the release of the third recording in this series, with MANTRAS FOR LIFE due for both physical and digital release in the United States on May 20, 2014.

Like its predecessors, MANTRAS FOR LIFE includes chants to invoke very specific intentions, such as: animal welfare; the blessing of children; for poetry, music and learning; for perfect timing; for physical strength, and for the earth itself. Based upon the tradition of Japa, a spiritual discipline centered upon the meditative repetition of mantra (108 cycles), Deva Premal and Miten invite the listener to join the chant and to utilise humanity's most powerful healing tool: the voice.

MANTRAS FOR LIFE is a practical program for daily application. It is focused mainly on supporting the listener on his or her journey into a committed meditation practice, with a minimalist approach to music. But, as the recording sessions unfolded, the music did so as well, in unexpected ways.

Miten comments, “Every album has its own spirit. Like raising children, you begin with the best intentions and a pre-conceived idea as to how to support and nurture them – but, just like children, music is a living phenomenon, and it often has ideas of its own, which one either fights with, or surrenders to. We found ourselves at the feet of the Great Spirit of Music, and we threw ourselves into its sublime mystery. Deva's voice became more transcendent, more 'there,' more ethereal. Maybe it had something to do with our time in Byron Bay…the spirit of the vast untamed land of Australia is wild and free, and it encouraged and challenged us to explore unknown musical terrain. As a result MANTRAS FOR LIFE developed into a musical statement that we had not originally anticipated.”

MANTRAS FOR LIFE is the latest title in a series that has proven inspirational to hundreds of thousands of fans worldwide, as Deva Premal and Miten, flame carriers of a 5,000 year old tradition, continue to re-awaken and deliver Sanskrit mantras in an accessible way for the growing legions of new practitioners who find themselves adopting mantra meditation as a transformational discipline that benefits every aspect of life.

In 2013 — between the releases of TIBETAN MANTRAS FOR TURBULENT TIMES and the forthcoming MANTRAS FOR LIFE Deva Premal and Miten launched a unique online program in partnership with Mentors Channel. The 21-DAY MANTRA MEDITATION JOURNEY combined mantras and music with informative teachings creating an extremely user-friendly series of 15-minute daily sessions with Deva Premal and Miten offering a new mantra for each day of the three-week program.

Over 200,000 people from over 200 countries worldwide joined Deva and Miten in this free online journey – truly a groundbreaking accomplishment. After the free program’s conclusion, it was additionally offered for purchase as an elegantly-packaged physical release, or as a digital download, so that participants and newcomers alike could continue, or begin to undertake, the therapeutic daily mantra recitations with new depths of insight and knowledge about their practice.

This spring will see the launch of a second phase of this unique program, when THE SPIRIT OF MANTRA: 21 DAY MANTRA MEDITATION JOURNEY VOL. II will be offered, starting on May 1st in conjunction with that week’s release of the new MANTRAS FOR LIFE album. This free online program will feature most of the mantras that appear on the new album, along with clear, helpful teachings on the background of each mantra and how to integrate them into day-to-day life.

Details about this second 21-day journey will be announced soon, along with more information on the program of mantras selected.
