NorthStar Alarm hosts Nepal emergency relief fundraiser and collects $4,790 to help those who were directly impacted by the Nepal Earthquakes.
Orem, UT (PRWEB) June 05, 2015
This past week, NorthStar hosted a fundraiser and collected $4,790 to help victims of the Nepal earthquakes with emergency relief. After one week the employees had pledged $2,395 from their own paychecks to help others. The company offered to match any donation pledged by a NorthStar employee, which brought the total donation amount to $4,790.Bikash Bhusal, a computer programmer who works for NorthStar, has family and friends that were directly impacted by the recent earthquakes in Nepal. It was his idea to have the whole company participate in the cause.
The money was donated to a gofundme account created by Bikash Bhusal and other team members of One Stop Portal. The donations will be provided to trusted volunteers in Nepal in order to ensure the fastest delivery of resources. The money will be used to help the residents of Barpak, where only four homes out of 1,200 were left standing after the earthquakes. The survivors are in dire need of basic humanitarian help like food, water, warm clothes, tents and medicines.
