Report: Yahoo, EBay to Team Up in Japan

TOKYO – Yahoo Japan Corp. has agreed to team up with American online auction Web site eBay Inc., a news report said.
The report Tuesday in top business daily The Nikkei sent Yahoo Japan’s shares climbing in morning trading in Tokyo.
The report did not outline details of the agreement, and the companies said they would announce details of the tie-up at a news conference in Tokyo later Tuesday.
Yahoo runs an online auction Web site in Japan, while eBay runs one in the U.S. In online auctions, consumers put up items they want to sell, and prospective buyers make bids through the Internet.
