Posted on: Friday, 1 August 2003, 06:00 CDT
The Labor Department is getting set to release the July unemployment numbers this morning at 8:30 a.m. EDT.
In June, the nation's unemployment rate soared to a nine-year high of 6.4 percent, smashing the hopes of job seekers anxious for paychecks in a sagging economy. Businesses cut 30,000 more positions from their payrolls, marking a fifth straight month without job growth.
Also due out this morning are personal income numbers for June and construction spending for June.
