Georgia Inmate to Die By Lethal Injection

The execution of a Georgia man was scheduled for Tuesday, after the state Board of Pardons and Paroles declined to grant him clemency
Pending a last-minute delay, William Earl Lynd will be the first inmate in the United States to be executed by lethal injection since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled the most common method was not unconstitutional cruel and unusual punishment, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. Lynd was convicted of the 1988 murder of his live-in girlfriend.
Late last week, the Georgia Supreme Court asked lawyers to address questions about evidence presented during Lynd's trial. His attorneys contend some of the evidence was flawed.
Lynd already requested his last meal before his 7 p.m. ET execution at the penal facility in Jackson: two pepper jack barbecue burgers with crisp onions; two baked potatoes with sour cream, bacon and cheese, and one large strawberry milkshake.
