Lost Hikers Found in Good Condition
Two female hikers who went missing in Alaska’s Denali National Park were found Wednesday and are doing well, officials say.
Abby Flantz and Erica Nelson have been found, alive and well. The families are here, and the young women will shortly be reunited with them, park spokeswoman Kris Fister said.
Flantz, 25, and Nelson, 23, were reported missing after they did not come back Friday from an overnight backpacking trip in the park, ABC reported Wednesday.
Officials said the women were taken to the park Thursday on a shuttle bus and seen by other backpackers on a wilderness trail before they disappeared.
Part of the issue here is that Denali has very few developed trails. This is their first summer in Alaska, so their experience is limited, Fister said of the pair.
