Betancourt Flies to Paris After Captivity

French-Colombian politician Ingrid Betancourt sees Paris for the first time in six years, flying to Paris Friday after her release from Colombian captors.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy will greet Betancourt and travel to her childhood home with members of her family, The Daily Telegraph reported.
I am eager to be in France, I am eager to be home, Betancourt said. Nirvana, paradise -- that must be very similar to what I feel at this moment.
Betancourt was one of 15 hostages rescued Wednesday by Colombian government forces who tricked followers of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, also called FARC, into believing they were comrades.
Betancourt, a presidential candidate when she was kidnapped in 2002, pledged to become Colombia's president and free the remaining hostages held by rebels, the British newspaper said.
She said the release of at least 25 political hostages and hundreds of other Colombians held for ransom by FARC has become her mission.
I am going to work for those hostages still being held, she said. Not just to get them home, but to get them home soonest.
