South Korean Woman Shot at N. Korean Site

A female South Korean tourist was shot and killed by a North Korea soldier at Mount Geumgang, the Unification Ministry said Friday.

Park Wang-ja, 53, of Seoul, was shot twice in her chest and leg when running away from a restricted military zone, the Korea Times said.

Hyundai Asan, the South's operator of the tourism program to the Communist state, will suspend the program from Saturday until investigations into the incident are completed.
