Russian Troops, Armor Leave Georgian Military Base in Senaki – Georgian Media
TBILISI. Aug 23 (Interfax) – Russian troops and armor left the area of Senaki, including a Georgian Defense Ministry base located there, and proceeded toward the Gali district of Abkhazia, Georgian media reported on Saturday.
They also said Russian troops are still remaining at checkpoints near the administrative border with Abkhazia, near Poti, and in the Tskhinvali region on Georgian territory.
Georgian police regained control over the city of Gori, and the traffic on the central Tbilisi-Senaki highway has been reopened, the media said.
