Paltrow: I’M Here for Madonna

U.S. film star Gwyneth Paltrow said she will do what she can to help her longtime friend Madonna deal with her split from husband Guy Ritchie.

Madonna and Ritchie, a British filmmaker, last week announced their plans to divorce after nearly eight years of marriage.

The pop music star and Paltrow have been friends for years and Paltrow was a guest at Madonna and Ritchie’s wedding in Scotland. Both the actress and the singer are Americans who married British men and divide their time between New York and London.

“You know, she’s a dear friend, and I’m supporting her in all (the) ways that I can,” Paltrow told Usmagazine.com at the premiere of her new film “Two Lovers” in London Monday. “I’m just here for her. I’m just here on the other end of the phone, really. … I speak to her a lot.”
