Report: Several NFL Players Violate Steroid Policy
Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Saints running back Deuce McAllister and defensive end Will Smith were reportedly two of a possible 10 players that have violated the NFL's steroid policy.
Denver's Fox 31, citing an unnamed source, reported Friday that six-to-10 players tested positive as a result of using a banned diuretic.
The report contends McAllister and Smith tested positive for Bumetanide, which is a loop diuretic, or water pill, which can mask the use of drugs or steroids. It can also be used to help lose weight.
A player's first violation of the steroid policy results in a four-game suspension.
The Saints are currently in London set to take on the San Diego Chargers on Sunday.
