Empire State Building to host 13 weddings
February 13, 2009
Thirteen couples will exchange marital vows on Valentine’s Day at New York’s Empire State Building, Brides.com says.
The Web site said Saturday’s event at the building will also include two women exchanging vows in a same-sex commitment ceremony, which will be the first of its kind at the landmark.
The couples involved in the holiday wedding ceremoies were chosen from more than 400 entries in a Brides.com contest.
The ceremonies will include first-time marriages for some couples and renewal of vows for others.
The individual private ceremonies will all take place on the landmark’s 61st floor, but the couples will each be allowed to visit the building’s 86th floor observatory.
