Egypt envoy to Iraq confirmed dead-ANSA agency

ROME (Reuters) – The Egyptian Foreign Ministry has
confirmed that Egypt’s top envoy to Iraq has been killed,
Italy’s ANSA news agency reported on Thursday, citing a press
statement.
ANSA did not provide any further details. In a message
posted on the Internet, an al Qaeda group said it killed Ihab
el-Sherif for representing a “tyrannical” government allied to
the “Jews and Crusadors.”
