Shuttle window cover falls off day before launch

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (Reuters) - One of shuttle Discovery's
window covers fell off as the ship waited on the launch pad on
Tuesday, striking one thermal tile near its tail, NASA
officials said.

The panel that contains the damaged tile will be replaced
and NASA will decide later whether the launch, scheduled for
3:51 p.m. (1951 GMT) on Wednesday, can go forward.
