A man armed with two handguns opened fire Thursday at a trucking company, killing two employees and injuring three, then fled in a van, authorities said.

The man drove past a security checkpoint in an industrial park, then began shooting at five men in an office in the mechanics area of Watkins Motor Lines in suburban Cincinnati, West Chester Police Capt. David Kelly said.

Police were still looking for the gunman more than an hour later. The man, in his 50s, was seen driving away from the building in a white van, police said. It wasn’t immediately clear if the victims knew him.

One man was pronounced dead at the company, police said. One of three men taken to Bethesda Hospital North in Cincinnati died about 11 a.m., spokesman Joe Kelley said. The conditions of the others were not available.

One person was taken to Mercy Hospital in Fairfield. Hospital spokesman Jeff Weisman said he had no other information.

Officials with the company’s headquarters in Lakeland, Fla., did not immediately return calls seeking comment Thursday. The company, which transport freight from multiple customers, has 132 locations and employs more than 12,000.
