Truck bomb kills 11 at Baghdad police station
BAGHDAD (Reuters) – A truck bomb targeting a Baghdad police
station killed at least 11 people and wounded 30 on Sunday, a
police source said.
The blast in the Mashtal area of eastern Baghdad killed and
wounded both policemen and civilians, the police source said.
Militants have stepped up suicide bombings in the last 10
days as part of a campaign to topple the U.S.-backed Iraqi
government. Police had no immediate comment on whether the
Mashtal blast was carried out by a suicide bomber.
