Man arrested over attempted London bombings-police
LONDON (Reuters) – British police have arrested a third man
in connection with attempted bombings on London’s transport
network last Thursday, a police spokesman said on Sunday.
The man was arrested in the Tulse Hill area of south London
on Saturday night under anti-terrorism legislation, the
spokesman said. Two other suspects remain in custody, he added.
“He was arrested on suspicion of the commission,
preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism,” the spokesman
said.
“He has now been taken to a central London police station
for further questioning.”
A police source said the man was not thought to be one of
the four prime suspects being sought over the failed bombings,
which came exactly two weeks after suicide bombers killed 52
people in an attack officials have linked to al Qaeda.
