HELSINKI (Reuters) - World 100 meters champion Lauryn Williams anchored the U.S. women's 4x100 meters relay team to victory at the world championships on Saturday.
Angela Daigle ran the first leg for the Americans, handing over to Muna Lee who passed the baton to Lisa Barber.
Williams repulsed off the challenge of Jamaica's Olympic 200 champion Veronica Campbell to win gold for the United States in a season's best of 41.78 seconds.
Jamaica were second and Belarus third.
