Power out north of New York after weekend storms
NEW YORK (Reuters) – About 23,000 customers of Connecticut
Light and Power north of New York City remained without
electric power early Monday after a weekend of severe
Mitch Gross, a spokesman for the utility, said about 70
repair crews including those from sister companies and private
contractors, were working to restore power. He said the utility
hoped to have power back on by later on Monday.
Gross said the outages followed a series of thunderstorms
that started Friday night. Affected areas in Connecticut
included Stamford, Greenwich and Norwalk.
