July 22, 2011

This month Total Environmental Concepts, Inc. (TEC-http://www.totalenvironmental.net), the 8th largest environmental company in Washington, DC metro area as ranked by The Washington Business Journal, acquired UXO Pro, based in Alexandria, VA. This marks the first acquisition for TEC and reflects a period of steady growth and earnings for the 10-year old environmental construction and consulting company.

Alexandria, VA (PRWEB) July 21, 2011

Locally headquartered in Gaithersburg, MD with offices in Alexandria, VA, Richmond, VA and Glen Burnie, MD, geographic expansion beyond the metro area became a priority for TEC’s senior management team in 2010. UXO Pro is a 12 year-old company specializing in assisting state environmental regulators in the management of munitions and explosives of concern (MEC), unexploded ordinance investigation and cleanup projects on DoD base closures and formerly used defense sites (FUDS). A spike in recent military base closures has prompted an increased need as contaminated federal properties are returned to to state or private ownership.

“TEC’s growth goals require geographic expansion in addition to expanding our core competencies,” explained John Ray, former Army officer and one of two TEC principals. “Since UXO Pros’s current client base of state regulatory agencies requires the precise type of environmental consulting support that TEC currently offers, a unique synergistic relationship has been born.”

“To scale my business, I realized I needed to focus my efforts on business development and addressing the myriad of referrals I receive from current clients,” said UXO Pro President and General Manager James Pastorick, a former Navy officer. “TEC’s back office support and seasoned infrastructure will enable us to hire new technically qualified managers to concentrate on our clients’ needs, while expanding our service offerings through TEC’s broad qualifications.”

As a wholly owned subsidiary of TEC, UXO Pro will retain its name, web address, (http://www.uxopro.com) and company points of contact, in order to provide a seamless transition to its client base and maintain high brand recognition in this niche industry. Since the acquisition, UXO Pro immediately made a strategic hire, growing TEC’s total workforce to 66 team members. TEC is now poised to achieve or exceed its 2011 growth goals while it continues scanning for new expansion opportunities.
