Masy Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce that Kerry Brough of Pepperell, MA completed the requirements to be named an ASQ-Certified Calibration Technician (ASQ-CCT). He joins John Joyce and Robert Perry at Masy in reaching a significant level of professional recognition, indicating a proficiency in and a comprehension of quality auditing tools and techniques. This accomplishment has allowed Masy to divide their Calibration Laboratory into three sub-departments each led by an ASQ-Certified Calibration Technician.

“ASQ provides certification as a way to provide formal recognition to professionals who have demonstrated an understanding of, and a commitment to, quality techniques and practices in their job and career,” explains E. David Spong, ASQ president. “This is a great accomplishment and, although not a formal registration or licensure, it represents a high level of peer recognition.”

CCTs understand the principles and applications of metrology, calibration, and measurement systems, as well as the principles of uncertainty, basic quality systems, and the application of quality tools and standards in a calibration environment. In order to sit for a CCT examination, a candidate must have at least five years of training and on-the-job experience in one or more areas of the body of knowledge.

Laurie Masiello, Masy Systems President, is please to support Kerry as he furthers his quality credentials. “Kerry is a dedicated calibration professional and deserves this recognition from his peers. We congratulate him on his accomplishment.”

Kerry oversees the Field Calibration team at Masy System. This group calibrates Validation Dataloggers, Controllers, Chart Recorders, Balances, Scales, and Gauges for temperature, relative humidity, pressure, CO2, light, time, rotation, weight, voltage, current and resistance.

In addition to the Field Calibration team, Masy proudly has two other groups in the Calibration laboratory that focus on In-house Calibrations and Thermometry. The In-House Calibration team led by Robert Perry calibrates Datatrace dataloggers, Validator 2000 and Digi-family datalogger, temperature reference baths, temperature reference standards, thermocouples, relative humidity, CO2 and pressure sensors. The Thermometry team is led by John Joyce and performs Fixed Point, IRTD, PRTs, SPRTs, Thermocouple, and high end temperature calibrations.

ASQ (American Society for Quality) has been the world’s leading authority on quality for more than 60 years. ASQ is a founding sponsor of the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI).
