New York signs $212 mln security deal with Lockheed

NEW YORK (Reuters) - New York's Metropolitan Transportation
Authority on Tuesday said it signed a $212 million deal with
defense contractor Lockheed Martin Corp. to create an
electronic security system for the city's bridges, tunnels and

Under the three-year contract, starting immediately,
Lockheed will lead a team to create and deploy the security
system. The contract includes maintenance options that could
extend the program through September 2013.
