Draining New Orleans will take 80 days – Army

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (Reuters) – The U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers expects to take up to 80 days to remove Hurricane
Katrina’s flood waters from New Orleans, a senior official said
on Friday.
“We’re looking at anywhere from 36 to 80 days to being
done,” Brig. Gen. Robert Crear told reporters at a briefing in
Baton Rouge.
